A Day of Good Weather, and Good News!

The weather here in Dublin has been great over the last couple of days, which makes everything better, even though it probably contributed to a relatively low turn out at rehearsals last night!

It’s easy to feel more positive when the weather is good, but we have other reasons too. This morning, we opened the post to find a letter from City of Dublin Youth Service, informing us that we have been approved for a grant of €400 towards our Summer Project with young people. It’s not as much as we would have liked, but in these though times, it all helps.

Later in the day, our friends in The Irish Music Rights Organisation contacted us to tell us that their Board of Directors have approved a special grant of €1300 for our many music education programmes.

Finally, earlier in the week, we had some news from our friends in Contemporanea, in that they will sponsor some of the instruments needed for our upcoming Bloco Afro Brasil project, whereby we will represent the great music and dance tradition of Bahia.

All in all, a good week all round! AND a team in green and white just thrashed France in the world cup!
