SMEI stands for the Society of Music Education in Ireland just held an excellent conference this weekend in Cork, which brought together a whole raft of people involved in lots of different form of music education from all over.
As always, these events throw us a lot of really interesting topics and ideas, and the quality of the presentations was outstanding. It was one of those ‘lightbulb over the… Read More
This week, saw the last few bits of administration taking place in the huge tidy-up operation after a highly-successful ‘Boys Are Back In Town’ pageant.
All that remains for now, is to say a sincere, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped us along the way, whether it was financially, spiritually, in terms of good advice, or just a good old-fashioned dig-out (remember when that wasn’t a dirty word… Read More
This, year, for the first time in at least 10 years, we don’t have an ‘official’ Hallowe’en gig – boooo!
We are however, travelling to Virginia, Co. Cavan on Sunday, to perform at the infamous ‘Pumpkin Festival‘, which has always had a sort of Hallowe’en theme. This year, as always, we will be bringing up a pretty big crew of drummers and dancers to add some colour and… Read More

However, this is really just a chance to re-group and plan for the remainder of the year, and simply to tidy up a… Read More

As many of you will know, as well as all the high profile things like shows, parades, etc., MaSamba has always had a very strong community ethos.
Several weeks ago, we met with the staff of St. Brigid’s, a local primary school, so close we can actually see it from the front door of the rehearsal space! Some of our youth group are ex-students of the school, and we… Read More
