MaSamba in 2011
As the year draws to its conclusion, it’s a good time to look over what MaSamba Samba School did in 2011, what music we played, who we worked with, and who we partied with!
This ‘round-up’ blog is not written in any particular order of preference, and we welcome your own comments to complete the story!

The Future’s So Bright, We Have to Wear Shades!
Sunglasses have become compulsory in the MaSamba rehearsal space this week, but not because of the sunny weather!
Our new drums, courtesy of Contemporanea, have finally arrived, and they look great! The lovely, shiny chrome is a sight to behold!
On top of that, our friends in Sabian have sent over some new Picante Hand Cymbals, so that our hand drummers can add some crashy, trashy sounds to… Read More

A Day of Good Weather, and Good News!
The weather here in Dublin has been great over the last couple of days, which makes everything better, even though it probably contributed to a relatively low turn out at rehearsals last night!
It’s easy to feel more positive when the weather is good, but we have other reasons too. This morning, we opened the post to find a letter from City of Dublin Youth Service, informing us that… Read More

This Summer will be Sensational!
After a really successful workshop with Mario Pam of Ile Aiye on Wednesday, the band is full of energy for the Summer season ahead!
Mario put us through our paces with some old-school Ile Aiye rhythms, exactly as they are played on the CDs, which will fit nicely into our Bloco Afro Brasil project.
