We were delighted today, to make an overdue return to Bradóg Regional Youth Service to work with some members of the Seen and Heard Carnival Group.
The Seen and Heard Carnival Group is a collective of young women who are interested in developing carnival skills and performing them in their community, and for the wider public. It is a group of 12 young women, some of whom have worked with us before on projects such as the Chocolate Caravan, and on local family days.
Some of this group will be working with us on ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ later in the Summer, but for now, we are just re-acquinting the group with some skills such as drumming, stiltwalking, dance and physical theatre. They will be working with Simeon and Sarah from MaSamba, Cathy Flood of Bradóg Regional Youth Service, and our dance supremo Kelly Baldonado over the next week, and will perform some of their skills on Friday, at a local community event.
Today, we had a drumming session, and the group got two pieces of music down in no time – at this rate, the rest of MaSamba can retire by the end of the week!
