Final Countdown to the Chicago Brasilian Music Festival

With less than 36 hours to go to ‘lift-off’ we are excitedly working away on final preparations for our week-long trip to Chicago and surrounding areas.

Coming so soon off the back of ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’, it has been a bit of a rush to get flights, accommodation, music, etc. together, but we are almost there, and just have one rehearsal tomorrow afternoon, and then it’s home to pack the bags.

Chris Hasselbring and his colleagues Kirsty and Isaac have been working away to get everything sorted for us, and they are doing a great job, and taking every care on all the small details.

We must also thanks Craig and the crew at, who have really pulled out all the stops to get us some really cheap flights, and all kinds of very reasonable suggestions about accommodation.

We will attempt to blog a daily diary about the trip from Monday, just to keep you all up to speed.

The Brasil Trip 2011, is made possible by Culture Ireland, the Chicago Brazilian Music Festival, Orquestra de Samba and Evanston Escola de Samba.
