Home from Chicago

As they say, all good things must come to an end, and on Monday afternoon, we left Chicago after a week of amazing experiences, meeting amazing people, and playing some pretty damn fine samba along the way!

It's time to go home, but which way is it - Isaac will know!

The morning was spent cramming in the last few touristic and shopping things before we re-convened back at 1312 W. Shubert, to finalise packing and get on the road.

Ruth was on the case for transport, and were expecting a couple of SUVs at best, so we were pretty surprised when a stretch limo pulled up outside the door!

Life on the Road is Tough! The MaSamba crew making do with the substandard transport we had to get us out to the airport, Chicago, Monday 17th October 2011.

We all piled in, in high spirits, and a bottle of sparkling wine was produced, just to complete the experience!

Thankfully, the flight was uneventful, and ran exactly to time, and at 8am yesterday morning, we were back on Irish soil – tired but happy to be home.

Already, we have been in touch with some of our Chicagoan and Evanstonian friends to share photos, and ideas. This trip is only the beginning!

Before signing off, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank some organisations and individuals who made this trip not only possible, but very successful:
