The band and dancers are just back in Dublin after a great day in Athlone, at the Euro Festival.
This event is a celebration of peoples from 15 European countries, who all sent enthusiastic delegations to Athlone for a week of cultural exchange. Our parade today was the opening ceremony of the whole event, and drew thousands of people to the streets who really got into the spirit of the day.
As well as it being a great performance, the weather held too, and although it was hot and sweaty, we all enjoyed the event. The icing on the cake, was finding a stall selling Antartica Guaraná at the end of the parade – a great source of excitement for the Brasilians and some of the Irish people too!
