Congratulations the drummers who completed our recent mini ‘Summer Drum’ event over the month of July!

Last night was the fourth and final session in the series which drew young people from the Liberties/Coombe, Drimnagh and Ballyfermot – all southsiders! The group learned two complete pieces of music over four sessions, as well as a batch of calls and responses, and everyone was enthusiastic and team-spirited throughout!
Special thanks also to Toni Fitzgerald of our existing youth group, who was a volunteer leader on the project, and made our lives a lot easier, by leading most of the music.

We celebrated the end of the course last night with a little party – there were crisps, chocolate, sandwiches and special Guaraná soft drinks from Brasil – luckily, all the kids had left before the worst of the sugar rush set in!
