MaSamba: the German Connection

MaSamba has always attracted members from many different countries and at this time we are lucky enough to have, among others, three German members in the group.

This is partly why there is such a focus on what is happening there at the moment. German member Oliver has managed to get us an invitation to perform with Sapacui No Samba at the world-famous Karvneval der Kulturen (Carnival of Culture) in Berlin in May. Planning is still at anearly stage, but it looks like a hefty crew intend travelling over for the event.

One other German connection at the moment is the imminent arrival of Dudu Tucci, also based in Berlin, to Ireland to deliver the first Samba Fever training course here in about five years. Demand was so high that we had to find a larger venue to host the workshop, with the result that we now have about 60 people signed up. Final payments are due by next Friday, April 3rd , and the event takes place from the 16th to 19th April.

Finally, and sadly, another German member Juliane left the band last night to return to, you guessed it, Berlin. We are very sad to see her go, but we hope to see her in May at the Karneval der Kulturen.
