Show Band working on new material

2013 will have to go down in the band’s history as a year of collaborations and partnerships, with projects with Andrea Nicole, DJ Moschops, Focus Theatre and Whole World Band all in different levels of development.

Collaborations are great fun, and a great opportunity to learn, but they can also be a compromise and a diversion from the ‘bread and butter’ of creating and rehearsing our own music.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have had the luxury of getting back into the rehearsal studio with nothing but ourselves and our own ideas on the agenda. First up is rebuilding an African-influenced 6/8 groove from a couple of years back, but now with a different line-up, we already have some new ideas on how to develop it further.

Also, last week, we started a new Reggae/Funk idea, influenced by a certain 1970s punk band – if it makes it to the live set, we’ll tell you more….
