Months back, we hinted that we had some big news on the horizon, but we weren’t in a position at that time to give more details.
Now, the waiting is over, and we can finally, and with great pride, can announce that MaSamba will be an official endorser of HARDCASE cases for all our drums and percussion equipment.
The deal has been in gestation for the last couple of years, but it is to the credit of the people at HARDCASE that they really wanted to make sure that this endorsement would be of the maximum benefit to MaSamba and HARDCASE, and that, most importantly, the cases would be a perfect fit for samba equipment, which does not conform to the usual drum measurements.
MaSamba’s Musical Director, Simeon Smith, flew to the famous Frankfurt Musik Messe in March to meet with Derrick Round MD of HARDCASE and Dave Eyre, International Sales Director, and finalise the deal. The meeting was incredibly positive, with both organisations having a genuinely deep respect for the other, but even with this, there were some final details to be worked out to make sure that that the deal would be the perfect fit.
From MaSamba’s side, we knew that HARDcase is absolutely the best choice, but it is indicative of the HARDCASE philosophy that they wanted to be sure that they could deliver for us, now and for the future’.
It is also very impressive when you tell the Managing Director of a company that MaSamba Samba School owns 70 surdos, 40 snares and 20 repiniques, not to mention 28 alfaias and a small mountain of hand-held percussion, and that we need cases for then all, and HE DOESN’T EVEN BAT AN EYELID!! That’s commitment to supporting us!
This Pearl 13" Piccolo is the first 'proper' snare MaSamba ever bought specifically for the band, and in the background, you can see the first case we ever bought for it, which was, of course, a HARDCASE!
As well as the cases, which will be shipped in a specially-chosen range of colours, HARDCASE will also badge each one with a MaSamba logo, alongside the legendary HARDCASE badge. Not only will the cases be the best protection we can have for our drums, but they will look great!
For the future, MaSamba will not only have the very best made samba drums available in the form of Contemporanea, but they will be protected by the best cases on the market – now that’s a solid partnership, in more ways than one!
We are 100% stoked with this new partnership between MaSamba and HARDCASE, and we are sure that it is the start of something truly great!
