MASAMBA SAMBA SCHOOL

The Masamba Youth Project was set up in 1999, and has rehearsed and performed continually since. The group is open to any young person over the age of 9 years with an interest in developing their musical skills in a safe, supportive and fun environment.

​

The group rehearses weekly during school terms at our rehearsal space in the Liberties. The address is St. James's Primary School, Basin View, Dublin 8, D08 EC96. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays between 4.15pm and 5.45pm. Workshops are delivered free of charge and a small snack is provided.

​

In addition to rehearsals, the group is regularly asked to perform at local events, and sometimes even teams up with our adult community band for bigger shows.

​

Our facilitators are Garda vetted, and the project is fully insured. All of our youth based activities are generously supported by the City of Dublin Youth Service Board and some of our equipment is funded through the Arts Council/Music Network Music Capital Scheme.
