It's not really the time of year when we need to worry too much about heating systems, but we at Masamba are always thinking ahead...
We were delighted yesterday to learn that we have been awarded a grant of almost €9000 to put a new heating system into our rehearsal space. While we fully appreciate the use of the space in St. James's Primary School, the hall is of an old design and absolutely freezing in winter - it is often colder in the hall than it is outside! The heating system not only benefits us, but will be huge asset for the school, and the other community groups that use that space.
The grant has been awarded by the Local Community Development Committee of Dublin City Council, and this is to be added to previous grants we received from the Cork Street Fund and City of Dublin Youth Service Board, and hopefully, it will be enough to get us over the line.
